N-Acetyl-D-Glucosamine
Also known as Chitin and acetylglucosamine, Glucosamine N-acetyl, NAG, or Poly-NAG, this amino sugar is the acetylated derivative of the amino sugar glucosamine, the amino acid is connected with cartilage prostoglycans.
By stimulating the metabolism of chondrocytes in the articular cartilage cells, NAG is beneficial in the treatment of osteoarthritis; it does this for synovial tissue cells as well.
