Goat's Rue
Goat's rue (Galega officinalis), also known as holy hay and French lilac, is a bushy perennial shrub native to Europe and some parts of Asia. Goat's rue has been used to help treat diabetes, as it lowers blood sugar and decreases insulin resistance. Goats rue acts as a galactogogue in nursing women. It has been found to interact with the dopamine system, which in turn, dramatically increases the production of prolactin. This increase in prolactin is responsible for the increase in milk that many women see after beginning the supplement.
