Both ubiquinol and ubiquinone plays essentially different roles. They have antioxidant actions, boosts energy in the mitochondira. Between the two, ubiquinone, the oxidized form, is commonly used in supplements as the harnessing the reduced form, ubiquinol, without getting it oxidized has been quite tricky. With modern technology, the reduced form has been stabilized and may now be used in supplements as well. Animal studies reveal that between the two, ubiquinol appears to have a more enhanced bioavailability. Until now, more studies need to be conducted in order to determine which of the two forms are considered to be most beneficial.
