DHEA
Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) is a hormone produced by the adrenal gland. It is the most prevalent steroid in the human body, and can be converted to produce both male and female sex hormones.
Individuals with Addison's Disease or other disorders that inhibit adrenal production can suffer diminished sex drive and loss of stamina in other ways. According to the Mayo Clinic, evidence suggests that DHEA might help reverse those effects. DHEA may also be effective in the treatment of individuals suffering from depression.
Other possible conditions which DHEA might help treat include systemic lupus erythematosus, cervical cancer, chronic fatigue syndrome, Crohn's Disease, HIV/AIDS, dementia, myotonic dystrophy, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis and schizophrenia.
