Arbutin
Arbutin is a derivative of hydroquinone isolated from the leaves of some evergreen plants. It has melanin-inhibiting properties which makes it an effective skin-lightening agent. It is popular in dermatologic and cosmetic uses. It has been used in the remedy of hyperpigmentation disorders caused by inflammatory diseases like acne, infections, allergic reactions, etc.
