Allium Cepa
Allium cepa or the common onion, is characterized by its rich content of thiosulfinates, sulfides, sulfoxides, and other odoriferous sulfur compounds. The thiosulfinates is known for their antimicrobial properties. Onion is effective in combating many bacteria such as Bacillus subtilis, Salmonella, and E. coli.
